What is The Terraces?
The Terraces is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community that facilitates an engaged, fulfilling lifestyle experience in an independent, residential setting while providing comprehensive health care services including assisted living, skilled nursing and memory support, all on the same campus.

What is the benefit of a not-for-profit community?
The Terraces’ not-for-profit status encompasses numerous benefits that provide the value you’re looking for in senior living. First and foremost, the entire focus of the community is to provide a quality, meaningful and secure life for all its residents. Other not-for-profit benefits such as a foundation to provide support if a resident experiences financial difficulties, direction by a dedicated board of directors, reinvestment of all funds into the community, favorable tax credits and exemptions, preferred pricing on goods and services, and reduced operating costs result in lower, more stabilized and predictable monthly fees for all residents.

What is a continuing care retirement community?
The Terraces is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), a lifestyle option enjoyed by thousands of seniors for more than 40 years. CCRCs emphasize lifelong learning, personal growth, and health and well-being. As a CCRC, The Terraces offers four lifestyle options — independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory support — as well as resort-style services and amenities, maintenance-free living in a residential setting and personal support designed to help maintain health and independence for as long as possible.

What services and amenities are available at The Terraces?
The Terraces offers a comprehensive array of resort-style services and amenities including restaurant-style dining, a private dining room, auditorium, educational opportunities, bistro, lounge areas, creative arts center, library, beauty shop, fitness center, swimming pool, chapel, housekeeping (including linen service) and scheduled transportation. What are the costs involved with living at The Terraces?
The payment structure for an apartment home at The Terraces consists of a one-time 90 percent refundable entrance fee and a predictable monthly service fee based on apartment size and style. If health care services are needed, a portion of the cost for these services is ensured at significantly discounted rates. A monthly fee includes one meal per day for each resident, utilities, housekeeping, flat linen service, complimentary local transportation and 24-hour security, all in addition to lifetime priority access to assisted living, skilled nursing care and memory support services, if ever needed. This predictable monthly fee, along with our refundable entrance fee plan, protect your estate from the cost of long-term care, while providing financial security and a legacy for your family.

Do the residents own their apartment homes?
Residents of The Terraces do not actually own their apartment homes. Nevertheless, the residency agreement provides the stability of ownership while maintaining additional flexibility, security and availability of on-site health care in a maintenance-free setting. For example, if residents choose to move to a smaller independent living apartment, they will not have the burden of selling their residence or the transaction fees associated with real estate. Also, predictable monthly fees and our refundable entrance fee plan protect your estate from the cost of long-term care, while providing financial security and a legacy for your family. You can truly relax at The Terraces, knowing you’ve planned well for your future.
